Shane Medlen, Assistant Principal

Mr. Medlen is a lifelong resident of Madison County and a proud 1993 graduate of Hazel Green High School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education for Mathematics from Athens State University and later completed his Master’s in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University.

With 26 years of experience in education, Mr. Medlen has dedicated his career to helping students succeed. His most recent role was at James Clemens High School in the Madison City School System, where he brought his passion for learning and leadership to the classroom and
beyond.

Outside of work, Mr. Medlen enjoys spending time with his wife, Megan, a real estate agent in North Alabama, and their four children: Tyler, Kaley, Mason, and Carter. When not working, he can often be found on a ball field or court, cheering on his kids in their athletic endeavors.
